Ruby-Red Grapefruit Sorbet recipe


1 cup of sugar.
1 cup of water.
1 tablespoon of red grapefruit rind, grated.
3 cups of fresh red grapefruit juice.
1 cup of sparkling wine.


In a saucepan, combine the water and sugar; stir well.

Bring to a boil; cook 1 minute or until sugar dissolves, stirring constantly.

Remove from the heat, then pour into a large bowl and and stir in grapefruit rind. Allow to cool.

Add the juice and sparkling wine to the sugar mixture.

Pour mixture into the freezer can of an ice-cream freezer; freeze according to manufacturer's directions.

Spoon into a freezer-safe container, then cover and freeze for 2 hours.
